In November 2008, USCGEN was accredited as High/Tech Enterprise by Tianjin Science and Technology
Committee, Tianjin Finance Bureau, Tianjin State Administration of Taxation and Tianjin Administration
of Taxation.
“Administration Measures for Recognition of High/Tech Enterprises” was issued by the Ministry of
Science and Technology, Ministry of Finance and State Administration of Taxation on April 14 2008.
Compared with former one, the new measure has eight parts: definition of a high/tech enterprise;
encouraging technology innovation; the proportion of R&D expenses; the administration on the recognition
of high-tech enterprises and so on.
Company was approved by State Development and Reform Commission to establish National Industrial Base of
Stem Cell Technology. 2008 the industrial base was awarded as a demonstration one of “Tianjin 20
Scientific & Technical Key Industrial Projects”. USCGEN established the consciousness that competition
comes from innovation and has set up several technical platforms including isolation, purification and
proliferation of HSCs and MSCs derived form bone marrow, cord blood and umbilical cord, monoclonal
antibody detection and medicines, genetic diagnosis. USCGEN has formulated the intellectual property
strategy and obtained 14 items of patents. Since 2001 USCGEN has been accredited as High/Tech Enterprise
by Tianjin government. According to the new measures, USCGEN was awarded as High/Tech Enterprise on 24,
November 2008 (GR200812000172).
