The first mesenchymal stem cell transplantation was successfully performed yesterday in the Linfen Third
People Hospital.
The patient had suffered cerebral infarction and heart infarction. Her family got to know that mesenchymal
stem cell would have certain effect on the treatment for these two diseases and there were plenty of stem
cells in the umbilical cord. Two months ago, the granddaughter of this patient was born and the umbilical
cord of the newborn was storaged in the Tianjin Stem Cell Bank. Yesterday morning the stem cells were
deliverer to Linfen. Three units of MSC were transplanted into the patient and operation was a success.
